About Backwoods Greenhouse:
CROMWELL, Minn. — Jessica Line had a dream of owning a greenhouse and exactly how it would be arranged. That dream came true a couple summers ago and now she is the owner of Backwoods Greenhouse near Cromwell, Minnesota.
“My husband (Corbin) asked me if I was ready to open one,” shared Jessica, “and of course, I said, ‘Yes.’”
Jessica was already growing her own plants prior to opening the greenhouse. “I ran with it after he said he wanted to do it,” added Jessica.
Looking back, Jessica actually opened Memorial Weekend the first year and didn’t start her plants until March. “Which is very late,” she explained.
Jessica offers a variety of vegetables, herbs and flowers. “This past year, I did a lot more. We have over 60 varieties of tomatoes and peppers, an extremely large array of herbs and over 10 varieties of cucumbers.”
“If you really like the color wheel, you will appreciate how I displayed my flowers in the greenhouse,” concluded Jessica. “I had a dream, if I ever had a greenhouse, it would be by color.”
The location of the greenhouse is just as the title states: Backwoods. Follow the signs and you will be greeted by Sasquatch. The sign reads Hummingbird Haven, a sign that was there when the previous owners had the place.
“That sign has been here forever,” she explained. “I was going to name the greenhouse Hummingbird Haven, but I found one in southern Wisconsin and that was already their theme.”
Backwoods Greenhouse it is.
