About Tamarack Learning Center
Tamarack Learning Center (TLC) Child Care brings new life to a historic building while creating a warm, welcoming place for children and families. Located in the former Tamarack School, TLC officially reopened after a thoughtful remodel by Nicole and James Elvidge. This center is Nicole’s fourth childcare program and is licensed to serve up to 49 children, from infants as young as six weeks to school-age kids up to 12 years old.
TLC is built around learning through play, structure, and connection. The center features dedicated spaces for art, dramatic play, building, reading, group learning, rest, and exploration. Lead teachers Nicole Elvidge and Raechel Drew both hold degrees in Child Development and bring decades of experience to the classroom. Each child has an individual portfolio that tracks growth, interests, and milestones, allowing teachers to truly know and support every child.
The center includes infant rooms, a quiet nap room, a full kitchen, outdoor play areas, and a covered deck for meals and activities. Future plans include expanded outdoor features and an indoor large-muscle play space.
Guided by the belief that when childcare works, everyone can work, TLC is committed to providing high-quality, affordable care in a safe, loving environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.
